Title: BRMP Post Fire Veg
Abstract: Author: US Dept of Energy, Mission Support Alliance, Geospatial Information Management
Comments: BRMP vegetation cover post 2000 to 2011 fires. Obtained from Mission Support Alliance (MSA), 2015. Hanford vegetation cover types were developed to allow spatial depiction and association of dominant/subdominant cover types. Hanford vegetation cover types were compiled and updated from aerial imagery and field survey through the 2010 growing season. Some polygons are raster-based remnants from older classifications. Vector polygons were either digitized from aerial photography or derived from field survey. Hanford vegetation cover types were derived mostly from dominant/subdominant plant species present. Some cover types are largely devoid of vegetation and may depict substrate in absence of vegetation (Bare Bank Slope, Cobble, Talus, etc.) as well as past land use (Gravel/Industrial/Non-vegetated). Scale of mapping is affected by complexity and level of knowledge. Areas with greater complexity may be reflected by more detail (Riparian cover types), and geographic areas within landscape where a greater emphasis was placed in field effort may also reflect greater detail. - Pacific Northwest National Laboratory-Ecology Group
